Wiser Mediations is a division of the Melbourne Mediation Centre Pty Ltd (www.melbournemediationcentre.com.au) and is focused on quality service and the highest level of professionalism.
Wise Mediations is an independent provider of mediation services to assist parties in resolving community or civil disputes through Mediation.
Our Nationally Accredited Mediator Paul Pattison is a DIRECTOR / MEDIATOR / PRE AND POST INSOLVENCY ADVISOR / FAMILY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PRACTITIONER AND DEBT COLLECTOR.
Prior to embarking upon his own accounting practice specialising in Personal and Corporate insolvencies in 1997, he was a Partner of Ernst & Young (including a predecessor firm) for 14 years specialising in insolvency matters.
This experience as an Insolvency Practitioner exposed Paul to all facets of industry and disputes relating to e.g. building and construction; retail; residential building; investment scams; debt recovery; franchises; manufacturing; .aged care and child care.
Paul's first insolvency practice began in 1983 which merged into Ernst & Whinney in 1988 which later merged with Arthur Young to become Ernst & Young in 1989.
During 1983 to 2012 he operated as an Insolvency Practitioner.
Paul has subsequently completed a Juris Doctor (Law); Graduate Diploma Legal Practice; Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution; NMAS Nationally Accredited Mediator; became an Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and obtained a Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Through these studies and in spending nearly 30 years in various disputes and mediations whilst an Insolvency Practitioner he pursued his passion to pursue a career as a Mediator founding the MELBOURNE MEDIATION CENTRE PTY LTD which Mediates disputes relating to:

Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship;
Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution; and
Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner;
Nationally Accredited Mediator (NMAS).
Paul is a member of the: Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (ACANZ); Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD); Resolution Institute (formerly LEADR Association of Dispute Resolvers); Elder Mediation Australasian Network (EMAN); Victorian Association for Dispute Resolution (VADR); Australian Mediation Association (AMA); Mediation Institute (MI); and the Australian Institute of Credit Management (AICM).
Paul's past roles include: Certified Practising Accountant (Fellow); an Official Liquidator of the Supreme Court of Victoria and Federal Court of Australia; a Registered Liquidator; a Registered Trustee in Bankruptcy and Registered Auditor.
Paul's qualifications and experiences have given him a sound knowledge of business and personal dealings and disputed issues requiring mediation.
If necessary, the mediation can be conducted at the parties’ nominated venue.
COSTS
We are committed to providing a quality and personalised service. We are responsive and flexible to parties needs and work with both parties each step of the way.
We are transparent with both parties regarding costs. Once we get an understanding of the issues we offer a fixed fee and there are no hidden extras.
All fees are payable in advance at the time of confirmation of a booking and each party participating in the mediation will be required to pay their share of the costs as agreed between the parties.
